At Poochieheaven we have great luxury dog carriers that will fit your needs. Dogs are becoming a more integral part of everyone’s lives and no one likes to leave them behind. Luxury dog carriers and purse dog carriers are an easy and stylish way to carry your loved one around. When you choose from our large selection of fashion and designer dog carriers to carry your dog around those busy city streets, you will be doing it in a secure way.

There are five different features you should look for when you are purchasing a dog carrier.

1. Pockets- Besides your dog, you’ll want room for dog treats, cell phone, and a small wallet.

2. Padding- If your dog has to ride in it, make it comfortable for them!

3. Safety- Make sure there is a place to hook a leash too.

4. Sturdy Construction- This is the reason why a cheap carrier is not always a good idea.

5. Fashion- If you have to be seen with it, make sure it is something you like.

There are just a few tips that will help you choose the perfect dog carrier.

At Poochieheaven we get asked a lot for front dog carriers. People that love to hike, ride motorcycle, or attend flea markets like to use these types of carriers so that their dog can see the action, but not get tired out or trampled by all the people.

We recently got in some new front carriers! They are available in four different sizes, including a special size for dachshunds.

Talk to Me Thursday

Talk to Me Thursday is a new feature on Poochieheaven's blog. It is when we will discuss a question we have gotten at Poochieheaven. This may be about one of our products, dog care, or just anything in general. If you would like to have one of your questions answers, please email it to info@poochieheaven.com and put Talk to Me Thursday in the subject line.

One of the most common questions I get regarding our dog carriers is are they airline approved?

Normally all I can answer is, it depends. While there are some features that can make a carrier airline approved such as a certain size, hard bottom, ventilation, etc. It truly all depends on what airline you are flying.

Depending on the airline, some won't even allow dogs in the cabin, some require a certain length, a certain height, etc.

What I always suggest to make sure the one you want is an airline approved dog carrier is to first find out what airline you are flying and then second, take a look at their carrier requirements and then compare that to the features of the carrier.

Some of the more popular dog carriers that are known to work on airlines are

Kwigy Bo Carriers
Sherpa (has some that are guaranteed to work with certain airlines)
Pet Flys Carriers
Petote Carriers

These are just some examples, many more are airline approved, but it is best to check with your airline to make sure.

You can go to this list to find out restrictions on all the airlines.

New Carriers

At Poochieheaven we recently got in two new types of dog carriers.

They are made by Bergan and are great for airline travel. They are not flashy and will not work as a discreet carrier, but they are great for traveling. Whether you are going to the vet, daycare, grandparents, or on a plane, these carriers will get the job done.

There are two types- one with wheels and one without wheels.

The Wheeled Comfort Carrier is black in color and will hold dogs up to 22lbs and can either work as a regular carrier or as a wheeled carrier. It provides plenty of ventilation and pockets for other goodies.

The Comfort Carrier is available in two color- Comfort Carrier Blue and Comfort Carrier Pink. These carriers will hold dogs up to 10lbs and provide ample amounts of ventilation with a patented Pet Connect which allows you to pet your dog safely while they are in the carrier.

Make sure to stop by Poochieheaven and find the perfect dog carrier for you.

Dog Carrier Tips

Dog Carrier Tips

Below are some tips that will help you choose the best dog carrier for your plane ride.

· Don’t buy a carrier right before you need to use it, buy it at least a week before hand to give your dog ample time to get used to it. Many people buy dog carriers on their way to the airport and then wonder why their dog won’t get into it.

· Don’t feed your dog for 6 hours before you get on the plane and hold off water at least an hour before the trip. If you dog has a full stomach, it could make for an very uncomfortable trip for them or even an accident while flying.

· When flying with your dog, make sure you get there early enough to give yourself extra time to get through security.

· Make sure you do your research before you travel. Some airlines require you to have an extra form filled out by veterinarian.

· Every airline is different, make sure you check your airline for different regulations regarding animals in the cabin and the extra fee associated with it.

· Not every dog carrier is airline approved. Not every airline approved dog carrier will work on every airline. Make sure you check out the regulations and requirements of the airline you are flying on.

Cat Carriers

Jax got a new cat carrier this weekend. He does not ride good in cars. Besides meowing the entire time, he tries to get out of the carrier. When the style I had, he was cutting up his nose. I got him this cat carrier and it has worked great!

There really is no difference between cat carriers and dog carriers. This one is a dog carrier, but works perfect for what I need. Jax seems to like it too. Carriers are important to use while traveling for a few reasons. First is for their safety. If you were to get into an accident, they would be more protected in a carrier then they would be riding freely in your car. Second, for your safety. When they are confined to a carrier, you don't have to worry about where they are and have them crawling in and on places they shouldn't be. You would not want them crawling under your brake and then you needing to use it.

Two of my Favorite Brands

People will often comment that "wow, your products are so expensive" It is hard to explain sometimes over the internet and email that the items I sell are high quality products, things you won't find at the Walmarts and many can't be found at Petco. Just like everything in life, items that are higher quality are more expensive. At the same time, they also last longer, which is needed for the wear and tear that your dog will put these items through. Many of these items are the "designer" items in the pet industry.

Two of my favorite brand are Kwigy-Bo and Bessie and Barnie.

Kwigy-Bo is best known for their dog carriers. Theses carriers are amazing. I have never heard one complaint about them. These dog carriers come recommended by so many people that i was very excited to add them to my site. Kwigy-Bo also makes a variety of dog clothing, which is also of exceptional quality. There are many different colors and styles, including a more manly one, which are so hard to find! Buy a Kwigy-Bo Dog Carrier today!

Bessie and Barnie is best known for their dog beds. These beds are Made in the USA! Their dog beds are available in round, square, and a sofa style. They come in many different sizes and are available in hundreds of color and design options. They are exteremly high quality and won't break down after your dog has sleep on it for a month. Bessie & Barnie also makes a dog harness that is very well known and highly recommended. Buy a Bessie and Barnie Dog Bed today!
