A great tip for my dog calendar today!
Dogs instinctively dig nests in cool, shady places. Rehabilitate a problem digger by providing them with a pit of their own (rather than your lawn). In a shady spot, dig a shallow pit, fill it with sand, and occasionally dampen it with a hose. You'll find that unlike dirt, sand doesn't stain or make mud, and it falls off fur with a quick brushing.
How great is this idea!?
